Food for healthy hair

Food For Healthy Hair

Protein: yogurt & sunflower seeds.
Vitamin A: carrots, tomatoes, dark green leafy vegetables & apricots.
Vitamin B:wholegrain cereals, bread, wheat germs, nuts, soy beans
Vitamin D: Sunlight
Vitamin C: blackcurrant, green peppers, citrus fruits, bananas, avocados, artichokes & leafy green vegetables.
Vitamin E: wheat germ, peanuts, vegetable oils & green leafy vegetables.
Iron: spinach, lentils, beans, peas & dried fruit.
Calcium:nuts, yogurt & root vegetables.
Iodine:iodized salt.

Nice post for the healthy hair. Hair is the important part for both men and women, they need to take care of it. I think you provide the nice foods for healthy hair.

More and more people get conscious of their hair as time flies... The older we get the lesser the hair we have, lol. That's why it is nice to take care of our hair while we have them, while we are still young :D

Thanks for this.. I'll try them. :) I'm used to putting mayo to my hair to become shiny. And I always go to a twice a month hair spa appointment. This is way too cheap.

Food For Healthy Hair

Vitamin E: Wheat germ, peanuts, vegetable oils, pulses & green leafy vegetables.
Iron: Spinach, cockles, liver, kidneys, pulses, lentils, beans, peas & dried fruit.
Calcium: Cheese, nuts, eggs, milk, yogurt, sardines & root vegetables.
Iodine: Seafood, dried kelp & iodized salt.
Sulfur: Eggs, meat, cheese & other diary products.

Good hair nutrition begins with getting enough protein,which is the building block of your hair.As for vegetables all green leafs, carrots,cauliflower,squash and green beans.The healthy condition of the hair depends,to a very large extent,on the intake of sufficient amounts of essential nutrients in the daily diet.

I would like to say my special thanks for your useful post. Your suggested foods are really important for healthy hair but I don't think these we can get easily. I'm suffering from hair fall since years ago but still unable to get rid on it.

For beautiful hair also use organic hair wash as the chemicals make them weak.

hair is protein, so lots of protein and generally well-balanced diet including lots of vegetables should help. i cut my hair early may this year (above my shoulder), and it's already past my shoulders again! lots of tofu and seaweed did the trick.. (although i didn't want it to grow).

Dear vegetable is very good food for healthy hair.Other 1 thing which best tonic for hair aloe Vera.
Take some aloe Vera paste wash your hair with it.Its a great tonic.
I must use it 2 time in 1 week.

I'm sorry...

But how many of these comments are by vegans?

Many of them are advocating meat, milk, and eggs. For hair?

And half of the comments here look like they're written by spam-bots, or people staffed from some outsourcing firm to create "fluffed up" forum accounts for advertising purposes.

Is anybody else noticing this, or am I taking crazy pills here?

I feel a sudden chill as I wonder if I'm the only human left populating these forums... things seem a little dead around here aside from what look like spammers. It's like a zombie movie...

Somebody please tell me I'm wrong!

Legumes like kidney beans and lentils should be an important part of your hair-care diet. Not only do they provide plentiful protein to promote hair growth, but ample iron, zinc, and biotin. While rare, biotin deficiencies can result in brittle hair.

I would like to add that aside from eating healthy foods, we should also avoid shampoo's and conditioner's that have harmful chemical ingredients like SLS/SLES, ALS/ALES those are skin and eye irritants and are commonly found in toiler cleaner products. 60% of what you apply on your skin goes inside your body!

Thanks for the information. Yes food is really important for health and specially good diet and should not take any stress. One of the main reason for hair loss is stress. And doing exercise and proper food helps you grow healthy hair.

Nice sharing about hairs. foods are the natural way to keep hair in healthy and strong. Fruits and all types of green items have essential vitamins and mineral for hair. These make hair roots stronger and less hair fall.

Hi Meign,

Hair is made mostly of a protein called keratin, so it needs protein for growth and health. Lean red meat and poultry, dairy products, eggs, soy and nuts are excellent choices for protein. Zinc, found in lean meat and seafood, also helps build hair protein and prevents hair loss.
Also Iron carries oxygen to hair, and iron-rich foods include spinach, broccoli, Swiss chard, kale and other dark greens are important for healthy hair.

The information which has been shared here is interesting. But I think citrus fruit is quite effective for hair, specially lemon and Indian gooseberry.

Great post, it is now proven vitamin D is so important for our hair in women and men, in facts studies have shown it can actually grow hair back. I saw a recording on the news a few months back.

I decided to implement this, although grow wasn’t install it did happen.

I like to cook with coconut oil! It is healthy for you and makes your hair stronger and shinier. Funny thing how I found out about it's hair benefits is a couple years ago, my family and I bought a newfoundland dog from a breeder who had a strict diet for her dogs that everyone owner needed to follow. One part of my dogs diet is a 1/2 tsp of coconut oil...why? To keep her coat thick, healthy, and shiny! Such a simple addition and yet so many benefits!
